Role Profile
As an SEO specialist you'll be tasked to figure out methods that increase the amount of visitors to a website and obtain a high-ranking placement in the results page of search engines. By creating more leads for the business you'll generate new opportunities for driving growth and profit.
In your role you'll usually conduct different testing methods in design, layout and advertising techniques to gain paid traffic. As an SEO Specialist, you must have knowledge of keyword research, SEO copywriting and the typical behaviours of search engines. Search Engine Optimisation is an dynamic landscape, so an SEO specialist will constantly be required to learn and evolve in their position.
Key responsibilities
Create original content for webpages tailored for different target audiences
Constantly check for search terms, rankings and analytics to keep tabs on performance of client websites and make suggestions on how to improve them
Help the client delivery team when required around the development and execution of SEO strategies for clients
Use social media to post content and encourage more external sites to link to your content which will be giving you more authority
Monitor and report on progress made by strategies and identify correlations, sucesses and opportunities that will improve client outcomes
Collaborate with other businesses over link-building opportunities in order to bring in paid commission to drive customers to the website
Create new and innovative content marketing strategies to reach prospective consumers
Monitor the algorithms set by the search engines to keep tabs with changes
Understand the SEO industry and keep tabs on the best practices and search engine updates and developments
Requirements
An analytical mind which drives you to understand search algorithms and try to anticipate what changes may occur
Strong analytical skills for understanding ranking algorithms and understanding search engines
Be committed to keeping your technical skills and knowledge up to date
Have a good understanding of where, why and how customers search in the event of making a purchase online
A good understanding of the wider marketing context
You should have strong personal online profile which can consist of a blog, websites or interactions on different social media platforms
Excellent knowledge of social media platforms and utilising it to produce content, generate more links and create successful campaigns
A good understanding of PR and how to get the correct message out there depending on the demographic that is trying to be reached
Good communication skills to teach, manipulate and liase across different departments and stakeholders in the organisation
