It seems in every industry you need data skills. This is truer than ever in the marketing industry. Marketers have been using data ever since they realised that if you understood the needs of your customer better, your marketing would be more successful.

They started using data based on what you bought, how often you bought it and how much money you spent as a predictor of future behaviour, but now the data possibilities are endless – with data on motivations, behaviour, channel preference throughout the whole customer journey.  

Still, we want to make the purchase decision and experience with the organisation the best it can be. But now that comes with great responsibility and the stakes are high. 

Get it wrong -  misuse or careless use of data can tarnish your organisation and destroy trust with your customer and leave you with a fine from the Information Commissioner. 

We want you to start your career ‘doing data right. Understanding how, and why marketers use data, managing the data responsibly and ethically. 

Creative Data Academy is a way for you to get ahead of the curve on your linked in profile and cv.

Creative Data Academy is a free to attend, 3 day deep dive into the marketing and data industry. You’ll hear from data experts on hot industry topics and discover the vast array of careers available. 

  • Work on a marketing brief for a famous brand using data to inform and shape your response, which you will pitch to the client on the last day. Last year we worked withCosta Coffee on a brief for National coffee day. 

  • Get inside the real-world of creative data with talks and Q&As with established industry data and marketing practitioners. 

  • Hear from leading data practitioners working at leading agencies and brands helping you understand what job roles look like and where you fit. 

Many of our academy students have secured their first job or placement as a direct result of attending. Elliot Duggan-Edwards attended in 2023 and is now a Marketing & Recruitment Officer at Bangor University.

We are now accepting applications for our 2026 academy. Dates will be confirmed in November 2025 but will either be early April 2026 or July 2026.
