I’m thrilled to announce the merger of the DMA and the IDM. Creating a more powerful, industry-wide organisation will take the new world of data, technology, creativity and ultimately the profession of one-to-one to millions forward.

Together, we can protect and grow our industry, inspire the best talent and be a passionate advocate of best practice, innovation and excellence.

As a combined group you are now members of the largest and most influential trade body and provider of specialist qualifications in Europe with revenue of over £8 million and 80 employees.

The recently re-launched DMA Code of Practice and Guides establishes a modern framework for responsible marketing in our profession whilst the IDM training and qualifications provide the skill sets and knowledge needed for practitioners to succeed. The DMA and IDM are two halves of a shared mission that will be better achieved together.

The DMA and the IDM will continue to operate as separate brands under the overall DMA Group umbrella. As a DMA member you will continue to enjoy the same benefits of your existing membership package. Over the coming months, we will explore opportunities for greater synergy across the two organisations to enhance your membership further. If you are also members of IDM, you will also be receiving an email from Caroline Worboys and Melanie Howard, joint chairs of the IDM Trust.

We have prepared an FAQ document, which you can access here. If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact myself or a member of the DMA team.

I hope you’ll share my excitement at this announcement and the start of a bright shared future for the DMA and IDM. As members of DMA, I’d also like to sincerely thank you for your support.

Julia Porter
