Email Marketing Council

The Email Marketing Council seeks to champion email as an essential part of the greater marketing mix and an effective direct marketing channel by producing and disseminating best practice guidance, research, case studies, data-driven reports and organising events for the membership.

 Richard Gibson Richard Gibson, Return Path As channel relationship manager, Richard works with channel partners, predominately email technology providers. He is a long-standing member of the Email Marketing Council, with a passion for research, metrics and measurement. Prior to joining Return Path, he was commercial director for RSA Direct and has many years’ direct and interactive marketing experience.

 Skip Fidura

Skip Fidura, dotAgency Managing director of dotAgency and group digital director to the dotDigital Group, Skip has been in marketing for over 15 years. He has worked in contact centres, direct marketing, customer analysis, and digital marketing. Most recently Skip was Email Partner at OgilvyOne London and prior to that he was the director of European operations for Acxiom Digital.

Simon Bowker, eCircle Managing director since 2009, having previously been director of operations, UK and France. Simon is responsible for growing eCircle’s business in the UK, overseeing a team of 60. With over ten years experience in online marketing, Simon has advised on email strategies for clients including Samsung, Argos, HBOS,MBNA and Standard Life.

 Denise Cox

Denise Cox, Newsweaver As Newsweaver's email newsletter specialist she uses her extensive knowledge in email, from best practice and marketing know-how to content, to provide practical consultancy and best practice guidance to clients. She is a regular speaker at industry events throughout Europe. 

 

Rupert Harrison, In his previous role as senior strategist at Tequila\ London, part of the TBWA\ Group Network, Rupert advised a wide range of both B2B and B2C clients on data strategy and how to maximise the return on their data assets. Rupert was elected to the Email Marketing Council in January 2006 and currently leads the council’s client hub.

 

Kath Pay, Plan to Engage Kath is the principal strategic email & digital marketing consultant at Plan to Engage. Key issues for Kath are email deliverability, creative, lifecycle marketing and email marketing best practices. Kath is a regular blogger on EmailExpert.org and she is also the editor of the council's newsletter Infobox, which has over 9,000 subscribers. 

 

Matthew Simons, Acxiom Director of Agency Services EMEA,  having been a founder member of the Acxiom Digital [formerly Digital Impact] team in the UK in 2000. Matthew has extensive experience developing world class multi-channel eCRM programmes helping acquire, engage, retain and grow customers relationships. Matthew is a frequent speaker at industry events, a regular judge at the DMA awards and an active member of the Benchmarking Hub. 

 

Tink Taylor, dotMailer Managing director of dotMailer, launched in 2000, Tink has extensive experience in introducing the concepts of digital marketing to companies new to the field, as well as in servicing major brands. Tink speaks regularly in industry events and tradeshows and is the chairman of the DMA's partnership hub. 

 Tim Watson

Tim Watson, Zettasphere Ltd Email marketing consultant, Tim works with brand marketers providing strategic guidance, advising how to increase return from the email marketing channel. He chairs the Legal & Best Practice hub, responsible for the DMA's email marketing white paper and best practice publications. Tim is a regular blogger and speaker on emerging trends in email marketing and expert commentator on the smart insights websites. 

 

Sara Watts, Data Media & Research Over the last  12 years,  Sara  has  played  an  integral role  in  the  growth and development of Carsource Ltd. Following  Sara’s launch of the data side of the business the business was re named, Data, Media & Retail Ltd. Sara has worked at DMRi since it was founded and has seen the business grow form a small privately owned business to a large data company which was purchased by DMGT in Jan 2006. 

 Deborah Womack

Deborah Womack, Possible Worldwide Deborah is the new senior director relationship marketing at Possible Worldwide. Her previous role was UK CRM Practice Director at LBi where she led a team of nine CRM consultants who worked with clients to conceive, develop and deliver award-winning multi-channel communication programmes that engage consumers with relevant, timely and impactful experiences. 

 Sian Brookes

Sian Brookes, ReynoldsBusbyLee Sian is an account manager at multi-channel direct marketing consultancy, ReynoldsBusbyLee. RBL works with corporate and charity clients across all marketing channels. Sian works across digital: multi-channel response handling and outbound for reactivation and up-sell. She understands the importance of integration and multichannel marketing. 

 Riaz Kanani

Riaz Kanani, Alchemy Worx Riaz is the operations director at Alchemy Worx. Prior to this, Riaz was the alliances director at Lyris. Riaz was the founder of Digital Oxygen, the digital marketing services company that translated sophisticated offline DM techniques to email. Timothy Roe, RedEye As head of deliverability and data segmentation, Tim’s current focus is the development and use of online engagement segmentation to optimise and improve clients ROI from email. Tim has spoken at a number of seminars and industry events such as the IDMF and Ad Tec. He joined the council's best practice and legal hub in March 2010.

 Fiona Robson

Fiona Robson, Rocketseed As managing director of Rocketseed, Fiona works with customers to ensure they are not wasting marketing opportunities via email. The focus is not just on their email newsletters but also on their everyday business communications. Fiona has over 15 years experience in sales & marketing plus ecommerce roles.  Prior to joining Rocketseed, Fiona worked for Hilton Hotels and Walt Disney.

Simon Hill, Extravision Ltd Co-founder of Extravision, a privately owned ESP based in Manchester, Simon has been involved in email marketing for over 10 years. Today, his current focus is moving more towards looking at how emails are delivered as well as growing the business and investigating new technologies. Simon joined the council's best practice and legal hub in May 2010.

 


Jolyon Hunter, ExactTarget As a marketing consultant at ExactTarget, Joe works with clients to optimise their deliverability, creatve and marketing programmes, deliver best practive advice and provide training on how to manage their social media presence using ExactTarget tools, Since 2003, Joe has worked in a number of different roles in the industry. Past employers include Acxiom, OgilvyOne London, before joining ExactTarget in 2010.

Marcus Appleton, Email Ladder Director of Email Ladder, a specialist email marketing agency, Marcus advises clients, providing consulting & training/coaching in email marketing strategy, tactics & implementation. Marcus is involved in the DMA Email Marketing Council's client hub. Marcus runs a range of webinars, face to face training events and one-to-one surgeries.

Luke Griffiths, e-Dialog General manager UK for e-Dialog, Luke joined the company in 2008.  He is responsible for the strategic growth of e-Dialog and service delivery to clients across Europe. Luke previously served as vice president of European Client Services with responsibility for expanding the organisation’s client portfolio and leading strategic e-mail and CRM programmes for clients. Prior to joining e-Dialog, Luke held the position of head of e-commerce at RCI Europe.

Anthony Wilkey, Emailvision (UK) Ltd Anthony has worked in the fields of CRM and marketing intelligence for over 10 years, spending the last two and a half years with Emailvision following time spent with Experian, Sage and Frost & Sullivan.  He has extensive experience of working on collaborative digital ventures and a range of often multi-national client projects and is currently part of the core product marketing team.

 

Janine Ococks, ADMS Europe Janine's experience in direct marketing started at Cornhill Life when the channels were just mail, inserts, telephony and TV.  From Cornhill she moved to ReMark and worked with many financial services organisations such as Lloyds, Scottish Friendly and Barclays. During that time she was also involved with the DMA Financial Services Council.  Since 2006 Janine has been marketing manager at ADMS. 

 

 

Rechenda Smith, little green plane Having worked in marketing for over ten years Rechenda is head of email marketing at little green plane. She is responsible for driving little green plane’s growth in the UK market and works with a range of clients including Proton Cars, Ipswich Town FC, RAF Museum and Crown Relocations. Rechenda is a member of the events and communications hub of the Email Marketing Council. 


Anthony White, Dennis Publishing As commercial director of Dennis Publishing, Anthony runs the direct marketing solutions sales team which is responsible for all Dennis' direct advertising channels including loose inserts, direct mail, lead generation and email. Anthony has over 15 years publishing experience working for a variety of publishing companies across a range of sectors, from B2B to most recently consumer magazines.

Guy Hanson, Return Path Guy has spent more than 20 years working in various aspects of marketing and data management. His current employment with Return Path’s professional services team represents a natural fit - providing response consulting solutions to a broad range of international clients to optimise the performance of their email marketing programmes. Guy is a regular contributor to the EM press and a frequent speaker at major industry events. He has also led the delivery of numerous whitepapers, including the DMA’s Email Marketing Best Practice Guidelines.
