Programme

Week one: A full introduction to data protection and how it affects you

  1. Get a full introduction to data usage and protection issues
  2. Hear from the DMA on the different preference services and how these affect you
  3. Find out how the ICO works and how to avoid getting into trouble!
  4. Work through case studies of compliance scenarios for a number of different organisations
  5. Learn about the specifics of third party data usage and subject access rights
  6. Conduct a data audit on your organisation and gain feedback in week two

Week two: Data Protection – Consider specific issues and apply your understanding

  1. Discuss your privacy statements and learn how to make them user friendly and compliant
  2. Learn the specific digital marketing privacy rules for email, SMS and phone marketing
  3. Understand what differences there are when dealing with outsourced data
  4. Find out about the rules that affect cross border marketing
  5. Learn why privacy statements are needed and how to write one
