Programme
Week one: A full introduction to data protection and how it affects you
- Get a full introduction to data usage and protection issues
- Hear from the DMA on the different preference services and how these affect you
- Find out how the ICO works and how to avoid getting into trouble!
- Work through case studies of compliance scenarios for a number of different organisations
- Learn about the specifics of third party data usage and subject access rights
- Conduct a data audit on your organisation and gain feedback in week two
Week two: Data Protection – Consider specific issues and apply your understanding
- Discuss your privacy statements and learn how to make them user friendly and compliant
- Learn the specific digital marketing privacy rules for email, SMS and phone marketing
- Understand what differences there are when dealing with outsourced data
- Find out about the rules that affect cross border marketing
- Learn why privacy statements are needed and how to write one
