New tool helps mobile marketers avoid under-18s

Following the publication of the Bailey Review on 6 June, marketing to children is once again in the spotlight. Mobile marketers can now use an online Adult Verification Lookup of a mobile number.

The Mobile Marketing Group (MMG) has integrated the AVS Lookup into their existing mobile marketing platform.

The Adult Verification Lookup enables marketers to check the age of the mobile contract owner against network operators; ensuring only adults over the age of 18 are contacted.

Using MMG’s online mobile marketing platform, marketers can simply check the mobile number has been verified by mobile networks and that the contract owner is over 18 years of age. 

This comes as a response to Prime Minister David Cameron’s comments regarding restricting advertising to under-18s.
