Textlocal, Aquira and ProCo were the winners of DMA Honours 2012, a new award that champions the North of England’s flourishing marketing industry.
The DMA launched the DMA Honours Awards earlier this year to celebrate the region’s highest achieving in-house and agency talent.
Unlike most marketing industry awards that reward successful campaigns, the DMA Honours puts the people behind the campaigns centre stage. There are three categories (creative brilliance, marketing innovation and outstanding performance) which focus on the brains and talent behind the exceptional work.
Textlocal won the marketing innovation award, setting the standard for marketing innovation with its approach to unlocking mobile commerce for SMEs.
ProCo took the creative brilliance award for its Helpies campaign – which in the words of the judges was “a completely integrated campaign that completely reflects ProCo’s vision, values and progressive nature”.
Aquira’s director of data services, James Ratcliffe walked away with the outstanding performance award for the role he played in developing a market-leading data strategy.
The winners celebrated their success at the DMA North ball held in Manchester’s Radisson Edwardian Radisson on Thursday 17 May.
The DMA Honours Awards aims to elevate the profile of the North’s marketing industry, which the Department of Culture, Media and Sport estimates contributes nearly £3bn to the national economy.
