DMA Logo

The DMA is Europe's largest and most influential professional body to serve the direct marketing industry. Through its unique suite of exclusive business services and a host of initiatives, the DMA promotes the business interests of its 900 corporate members and drives the growth of the direct marketing industry as a whole.
The DMA logo may be used only by full members of the DMA. Members may employ the symbol to identify them as a trusted organisation operating to the highest professional industry standards.

To download the logos, please right click on the links below and select 'Save Target As' from the menu.

The following guidelines are intended to ensure consistency of use of the symbol so that it is always distinct and legible.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF THE DMA SYMBOL
Members should include the symbol on their corporate stationery, website, direct response advertising or selling communications. They may also use the symbol in all other advertising and promotional material and on exhibition displays if considered appropriate.

The following guidelines are intended to ensure consistency in the appearance of the symbol so that it is always distinct and legible. However, as explained in the DM Code of Practice, the following three specific points as listed are mandatory, the rest are given only as guidance:
  • the symbol must not be used on products or packaging, or in any way that implies endorsement by the DMA of any particular product
  • material for printing should be prepared using only the approved artwork for the DMA symbol
  • when used by members, the official colour of the symbol, as specified in the DM Code of Practice, is black. Members are encouraged, whenever possible, to use the DMA corporate colour which is pantone 281 blue. If specific circumstances make it impractical to use black or 281 blue, some other dark colour may be used. However, the background must be plain, and light enough to give a good contrast
In addition, the symbol must always be reproduced in line using approved artwork provided by the DMA. It must not be rendered in outline form, altered or distorted. It must never butt-up to, overlap or be combined with other devices or text.

Members are encouraged to use the logo in combination with text to clarify or explain membership, although the Association reserves the right to object to any wording thought to be inappropriate. When using the logo smaller than 22mm in diameter, the 'Direct Marketing Association' wording should be deleted. The minimum recommended diameter is 15mm, and the surrounding space should be at least half the diameter. A separate logo is available in this instance.

Please see the examples below: Monochrome

USE OF THE SYMBOL ON STATIONERY
When applied to a member's letterhead or any other corporate stationery, the DMA symbol should not be smaller than 15mm in diameter.

The colour should be black or pantone 281 blue, unless the letterhead is printed only in the member's corporate colour.

The symbol should be separated by at least half its diameter from other graphic devices and from wording, and should be at least that distance from the edge of the paper.

USE OF THE SYMBOL IN ADVERTISEMENTS
The preferred colour of the symbol is black or pantone 281 blue. If it is essential to use another colour it should be as dark as possible.

The symbol should be separated from other graphic devices by at least half its diameter. It should never be placed within the response coupon, next to credit card or other payment symbols.

The symbol must always be reproduced in line, using the artwork supplied. It may not be rendered in outline. The background should be unprinted or a pale, solid colour.

OTHER APPLICATIONS OF THE SYMBOL
In any other applications, including leaflets, flyers, catalogues, websites, etc, the same rules will apply as to advertisements (see above).

For exhibition display, the symbol may be enlarged to any size. In such a case it may be treated as a three dimensional object, but we do recommend that the thickness should not exceed 5 per cent of the diameter.

Whilst approval of individual member's stationery is not necessary, if members wish to use the symbol in applications other than those mentioned above, or if they are in doubt about how to use it correctly, they should consult the DMA. To do so please email Sven Polt at sven.polt@dma.org.uk.
