Agencies Council

The DMA Agencies Council aims to ensure that DMA member agencies enjoy substantially greater commercial success as a direct result of their DMA membership and a clear and sustainable competitive advantage over non-member agencies.

Shaun Bailey
Shaun Bailey, Jacob Bailey An economics graduate, co-founded Stilton Advertising in 1995 and managed the company’s 400 per cent growth in turnover. He went on to form Jacob Bailey in 1998. Under his leadership, it soon grew to become the largest direct response agency in the East of England, with offices in Suffolk and London.

 Ian Bates Ian Bates, Indicia Ian's philosophy, that creative ideas are the interface between a brand and a person, drives the team at Indicia. It's led to exceptional results for clients from Very to Tourism Ireland. What's more, it fills the shelves with silverware. Ian is still hands-on and loves working on live briefs and knocking ideas around. When not leading his creative team by inspiring example, he hobnobs with the creative cognoscenti, sitting on judging panels for the DMA, CIMTG and BIMA.

  Mike Cullis, Independent MC Ltd Mike is a fellow of the IDM and has over 17 years experience in direct and integrated marketing, having started his career client side with Mercedes-Benz. Mike's direct and integrated experience covers major brands across a variety of sectors.
  Tim Dearing, Da Vinci direct relationships plc Prior to founding his own business, Tim was formerly MD of award winning agency DMB&B Direct, CEO of LBA Group, and Director of Integrated Marketing at IMP. His career started on the client side, in senior marketing positions with American Home Products, Fisons and LRC International.
  Justin Hicklin, Crayon Having worked at FKB and then Carlson on clients including Buena Vista, BT and United Distillers Justin co-founded Hicklin Slade & Partners in 1998. He is primarily a senior client contact and business advisor and continues to work on all client business, specialising in premium brands and developing the agency’s offer in the UK and abroad. Justin heads up the agency’s most recent offering, a Word of Mouth consultancy, Legends.
  Omaid Hiwaizi, Sapient Nitro Omaid is one of the industry’s hybrids, having studied Mathematics at Cambridge University before embarking on his career as a creative, designing i-D magazine before founding direct marketing agency Hubbard Hiwaizi McCann and subsequently interactive communications agency Crayon, where he was the Planning Partner.
  Tony Spong, AAR With over 20 years' experience on both client and agency side Tony has a breadth of understanding of the marketplace and an intimate knowledge of the dynamics of agency life. Tony started his marketing life at Natwest before joining Sutch Webster, then McCann Communications, Haygarth and finally Proximity where he was Board Account Director.
  Lucy Stafford, MindShare UK Lucy is managing director of MindShare Direct whose clients include Times, News Of the World, Sun Bingo, Zurich, HSBC, First Direct, Hutchison 3, Mazda, Volvo and Amex. She has a 1st Class Honours degree in Business.
  Ben Stephens, SFW Ben spent his formative years at Limbo (BBH’s Direct Marketing agency) prior to spending seven years with the TBWA Group. He founded TBWA Direct alongside the advertising agency and then completed two mergers in four years, firstly with Payne Stracey & then with Tequila, ending up as Joint Chief Executive of a 200 strong £15 million billing agency.
  Pipa Unsworth, LBi - Global Head of CRM at LBi, Pipa has over 17 years of experience in CRM, direct and digital marketing, working client side as well as in global agency and consulting roles. This broad experience gives her in deep understanding of the end-to-end marketing process (from developing brand strategy to managing CRM programmes) and the ability to approach her client’s business and marketing challenges from many different perspectives. 
  Gavin Wheeler, WDMP Gavin has over 17 years’ client-side experience behind him, bringing to the agency world a keen insight into what clients really want and need. His client side history includes five years at Toyota, followed by six years within telecoms at Cable & Wireless and ntl. He then moved to Amazon.com to develop its CRM strategy as head of its Pan-European eCRM operations.
  John Willacy, Mike Colling and company limited MC&C is an award-winning direct marketing media agency. John is responsible for trading, key client accounts, and supporting his board colleagues in growing this innovative business.
  Rick Pullan, TBDA Ltd Rick has headed TBDA's dm team for the last 13 years working for companies such as South West Trains, Regent Inns (Jongleurs Comedy clubs), Von Essen Hotel collection, Europcar, M&S and Nestle. Prior to that he was UK marketing director and then general manager in the Far easy for Alberto Vo5, then worked for Colin Llyod (former DMA CEO) as client services director at KLP
  Mark Jackson, PHD Media As Business Director - Deputy Head of Performance, Mark helped to drive a 340% increase in revenues across the PHD Performance team. Experience includes managing the entire Royal Bank of Scotland Insurance division, Direct Line, Churchill, Privilege and Green Flag and controlling Dell's £110m EMEA advertising budget across 13 countries.
