Councils and committees
DMA council and committee members help promote, protect and grow the direct marketing (DM) industry. They are all leaders in their respective fields and between them have a wealth of expertise in all the DM channels, as well as data, agencies and financial services.
They help DMA members…
Get it right
Our councils and committees meet regularly to discuss the latest issues affecting their area of interest and to produce reports, guidance and white papers for DMA members.
Their aim is to provide thought leadership in their field and to help the industry take the initiative to self-regulate and, in so doing, protect DM from over-regulation by government. Our newest council – the Social Media Council – has produced a white paper on staff use of social media.
To help DMA members do better business, our councils also put together practical ‘how to’ guides on everything from winning pitches and segmenting email campaigns to creating a terms and conditions document and managing call recording compliance.
They also provide insight for members through their industry and sector research. For example, the Inserts Council produces quarterly industry monitor reports and the Email Marketing Council brings out regular benchmarking reports.
Technological advances are making a huge impact on DM especially in areas such as mobile and email marketing. Our councils are at the forefront of all these developments and are coming up with initiatives to help DMA members make the most of the opportunities these advances bring.
And, last but not least, our Awards Committee is a source of inspiration. They run the DMA Awards – the most respected and coveted awards in the DM industry.
